Comprehensive Repair Services
When something doesn’t feel right with your car, it’s best not to ignore it. Whether it’s a strange noise, a warning light on the dash or a drop in performance, our mechanical repair service is designed to diagnose the issue properly and fix it the right way. We take the time to find the cause, not just treat the symptom, so you’re not back in the same position a few weeks later.
From engine and cooling system repairs to suspension, steering and driveline issues, we handle a wide range of general mechanical repairs for all makes and models. We’ll explain what’s going on in plain language, outline your options and only proceed once you’re comfortable. It’s straightforward, honest mechanical work focused on keeping your vehicle safe and reliable.
What's involved
Diagnosis first, then repair
We find out what is wrong before quoting
Mechanical repairs cover a lot of ground: engine, cooling, transmission, clutch, suspension, steering, electrical, exhaust. What they have in common is that guessing is expensive. We diagnose first: a scan tool where there are fault codes, physical inspection and testing where there aren't, and a road test if the fault only appears while driving. A fault code tells you which circuit is unhappy, not which part has failed, and the difference between those two matters when you are paying for parts.
Warning lights are information, not verdicts
A check engine light can mean a failing sensor, or it can mean something that will damage the engine if you keep driving. There is no way to tell from the dashboard. If a light comes on steady, book it in soon. If it is flashing, stop driving and call us. A flashing engine light usually indicates a misfire that can destroy a catalytic converter in minutes. Either way, don't clear the code before you bring the car in; the stored data helps us find the fault.
You decide what gets done
Once we know what is wrong, you get a clear explanation of the fault, what is needed to fix it, and what happens if it is left. Where there is more than one sensible option we will set them out rather than choosing for you, and nothing proceeds without your approval. If a repair isn't worth doing on the car's value, we will say so.
Noises and leaks are worth describing
When you book, tell us what the car is doing and when. A noise that only appears cold, a vibration that arrives at a particular speed, a leak that shows up after the car has been parked overnight. That detail is useful, because some faults refuse to appear on demand in a workshop. If there is a puddle, the colour helps: coolant, oil, transmission fluid and air conditioning condensate all look different and point in different directions.
Older cars and higher kilometres
A lot of what comes through the workshop isn't new: cars that have done the Peninsula Link and EastLink commute for years, work utes, family cars kept well past the warranty period. Those vehicles are often worth repairing properly, and we would rather fix the actual cause than replace parts until the symptom disappears.

Frequently Asked Questions
We carry out a wide range of repairs, including engine issues, cooling system faults, suspension and steering repairs, driveline problems and general mechanical faults. If something isn’t working the way it should, we can diagnose it and let you know what’s involved.
Warning lights, unusual noises, vibrations, fluid leaks or changes in performance are all signs something may need attention. If your car doesn’t feel right, it’s worth having it checked before the issue becomes more serious.
Yes. We assess the issue first and explain what we find before any repair work begins. You’ll understand what needs fixing and why, so you can make an informed decision.
Absolutely. Once we’ve identified the issue, we’ll outline the recommended repair and provide clear pricing. No unexpected work is carried out without your approval.
It depends on the issue. Some repairs can be completed the same day, while others may require parts to be ordered. We’ll give you a clear timeframe once we know what’s involved.
In many cases, continuing to drive can make the problem worse and more expensive to fix. If you’re unsure, it’s safer to have the vehicle checked as soon as possible.
