What's involved

Manufacturer servicing, done properly and recorded properly

What a log book service covers

Every manufacturer publishes a schedule for your model: a list of what gets checked, replaced or adjusted at each interval, set by kilometres or time, whichever comes first. A log book service follows that schedule rather than a generic checklist. For most vehicles that means engine oil and filter, fluid levels and condition, brakes and tyres, belts and hoses, battery and charging, lights, suspension and steering, and a road test. The exact list changes between a 15,000km and a 60,000km service, and between a small hatch and a diesel ute.

Servicing here does not void your new car warranty

The short answer is no. Under Australian Consumer Law you are not required to return to a dealership to keep your new car warranty. A manufacturer cannot void it because an independent workshop carried out the service, as long as the work follows the manufacturer's schedule and uses parts and fluids of the correct specification. The ACCC has stated this plainly. We work to those schedules, use quality parts, and stamp and date your log book so the history stands up if you ever need to make a claim or sell the car.

If we find something outside the scheduled work

Cars don't always keep to the schedule. If we find something that isn't part of the service, whether that's a worn bush, a weeping seal or brake pads closer to the end than expected, we stop and contact you before doing anything. We'll explain what we've found and what it needs, and give you a quote for the work. No modification or extra repair goes ahead without your say-so, and if it can safely wait until the next service, we'll tell you that too.

The cars we look after

We service all makes and models, from small commuters to family SUVs, utes and commercial vans. That includes European vehicles, and hybrid and electric vehicles, which have their own requirements around high-voltage systems, cooling and brake wear. We're a Repco Authorised Service centre, and we work to manufacturer specifications using quality parts and current service data rather than guesswork.
